When my 5239 stopped running last night, I noticed that the legs of the coil were hitting the magnets on the flywheel. I reset the air gap but I do not have any apark. Would the legs hitting the flywheel ruin the coil?

I would be looking for what caused the coil to contact the flywheel. May just be my dumb luck, but I've never heard of one working loose on its own. But just in case it did simply work loose, are you sure the air gap is not too wide? What about the kill wire, is it intact with no missing insulation?
