Flywheel fan

I noticed that my flywheel fan on my Briggs and Stratton 16.5 hp Intek engine is broken some of the flaps on it are broken. Will it damage my engine if I run the mower for a couple of minutes or if I use it all summer with a broken flywheel fan?

If the flywheel fan is broken is will cause lack of cooling and could lead to engine failure.
