Flower garden

My daughter wants to start her own flower garden out back. We have a couple of gardens already, but she wants to start her own. We have a trellis outback that has built in seats and she wants to put her garden in the middle of that. What do we need to do? Can we just roto-til it up?

I think it is a wonderful idea to let her have her own garden. Roto-tilling it up is a good start. Then you can get some fertilizer and help her lay that. Have her decide what she wants to grow. Will she start from seeds or from starter plants?

My son is very into gardening, probably because he was exposed to it his whole life with me, but next year we are letting him plant his own garden and let him grow whatever plants he wants.
