Ok...I have a Ferris walk-behind mower and the wheel speed lever won't stay in the position after it is set. The wheel speed gets slower after every turn. As I've watched, it seems that when the steering control levers are squeezed to turn this somehow pulls back on the speed lever causing the mower to go slower. I have to reset the wheel speed after every turn. I've lubed all the grease fittings on the speed lever and the steering levers and also checked the manual ( which was not helpful of course), but yet the problem persists. I'm wonder... Is this a common problem with walk-behind mowers? Can I repair it myself or does it have to be looked at by a tech? If I need parts, can I get them on-line reasonably priced and where?
Thanks for any and all help!
p.s. I started to ask this question on another site and after putting in all the info found out that an answer would cost $37. For that much I would also expect a replacement part delivered!! So to be clear, I'm looking for a "free" answer/advice. If this is possible I'd appreciate it! If not then I'll figure something out.
