Featherlite sst25 trimmer replacement string head

i own a featherlite sst25 weedeater. i live on a small budget and have kept my lawn equipment in good shape.
i bought a universal tap and go replacement head but after using it most of the summer it broke the shaft because the replacement head was so big (in my opinion to wide/heavy and hard to start with) i was able to repair that.
i noticed that the oem head was discontinued. and the ones left out there are pricy.
my question is : are there some heads around that are smaller and compatible (thread)
finding various heads on sites it seems hard to determine if they do .most do not tell you the size of the bolt they connect with.

IF you go to the Oregon web site and search with featherlite trimer you should bring up all the heads they make that can fit.
Also the after market parts suppliers put the full details in the catalogue.
So they will tell you what the thread is
be careful as a lot of them are metric in which case they can be std, fine or extra fine pitches.
