I'm in a quandry. In my neighborhood, the city has free leaf pickup in November of each year. But, I'm so used to burning my own leaves, but now I could get in trouble for that. What should I do ?

Where I live it is against the law now to burn anything. We also have leaf pickup by the city. Although I do know of some neighbors who do burn their brush and leaves. That is mostly a hangover, as many people in the small city I live in have moved there from farms when they retired. When I move to my farm, I could start burning again, but I think I am more likely to put it in the compost heap.

I can understand not wanting to wait for the city to pick up the leaves. I know we put them at the side of the road, and one good wind and they are scattered all over the lawn again.

Mow them into small bits... or put it in a compost heap... They can be good for your soil. :smile:KennyV
