A mild fall day, lush grass, a vintage Lawn Boy, and some 16 to 1 mix and life is good.

Spent most of the day mowing here today also. Warm sun, nice breeze. Hasn't rained here for several weeks, nice all day rain Monday, grass is looking decent again. Had to drill start the old Lawn Boy after sitting so long, running fine though.

Also mowed here today as well. We have been in a drought, I hadn't had to mow in 1 month..

Today the cut was easy, but down back it also got a bit dusty.. Arrgh.. We need rain..

Just the opposite here. We have already obliterated the total record rainfall for the year—-and the year isn’t even over yet!!!! Since early spring, I can’t recall a seven day stretch that was dry. Flooding and mosquitoes have ruled. This state has been a great place to live if you enjoy mowing your lawn every two days. Something new: Rain is in the forecast tonight and into tomorrow, with the possibility of flakes on Saturday. Lake Michigan is so high that some residents on the west shore have lost some of their real estate.

One extreme to the other. We are hopefully gonna get some rains tomorrow. I know the record breaking high temps may be gone, as tomorrow is only predicted to hit 67*

We were hitting 99* & dry as a desert. Quick a shift in temps..

This year's first mowing was on April 9th. 39th mowing took place October 7th and we aren't done yet.

If the farmers almanac is to be believed, we here in the upper midwest are in for a particularly cold winter with LOTS of snow. Here's hoping!

Last year I mowed 36 times, this year because of the drought, I have only mowed 24 times to date, I think we may have another mow or two left. Time will Tell.

I understand that.. I like how you log your mows, I do as well, but never thought to enter 1st mow & last of the year dates till I read your thread.

Now I certainly will... Thank You Sir..

You're very welcome!

In 2012, I started keeping a daily journal summarizing what took place that day, what the weather was like, etc. A diary, but we don't dare call them that. It's been pretty helpful at times.

Makes sense to me, when I started with my log books, the Mrs said I was getting OCD. I told her to go back in the kitchen..
