Well follow forum members I got an extortion email demanding a Bitcoin payment 1469 USD or the emailer is threatening to release video, audio, and all my contacts info. He/She is claiming to have to use my camera and mic to record to me. And saying there is no point in me in doing a factory reset of the phone.

Well I got news for the JackA** I don't have cell phone so it is impossible for idiot to access it, nor cameras or mics for the idiot to accessing even on my home computer.

The email looks like a random attempt at extortion which I am not falling for. And the email that it was sent to only has two contacts so they don't care what I am doing.

So fellows just be aware there are some JackA**s out there attempting this BS.

Lots of scams via email and phone these days. A “representative from Google” called me a couple of months ago trying to upsell me on the free Google business site. I told her to put it in writing and mail it to me and never heard from them again.

And they will pester the heck out of you after you setup a business email account. For awhile lately I was getting three to four calls a day from Google trying to bug me. They just keep using random phone numbers but I caught onto their mode and just ignored the calls. Most of the calls id'd from towns out of my local area but in my state.

I accurately tried taking them up on the business and then they demanded a live video upload via a smart phone. I recorded a video for them but they insisted on a live shot. That where I stopped trying to setup the account. I still using the free Google drive associated with the business email account as I needed to keep my business accounting backup off site.

And Yelp is just as bad. I had a customer that did a review on Yelp and Yelp hasn't stop pestering me. But I now I have that salesman phone blocked and the emails are forwarded in triplicate to her email address. But at least they are only doing it one week per month. I done told to delete the review and leave me alone but that hasn't sunk in yet. But as I increase the number of forward emails it might start to irritate her.

I have had an email associated with my audio consulting business for over 20 years. I constantly get bombarded with scam emails and marketing emails. At least 2 or 3 every day for years. Some of the scams are hilarious. The IRS with bad grammer threatening to take me to jail was a good one. Open a business and the whole world wants to sell you something via email.

I actually had two business email accounts for over 15 yrs and another that is just over two yrs. I never received any scam emails on them. The one I posted about here is one of my personal Yahoo accounts. The Turd Ball is saying he don't make mistakes but I know he has made at three mistakes. No cell phones, no cameras, and no mics present in my my home. I have stayed old school as much as I can for security purposes.

Even my internet supplier is trying to get me take them up on their free phone service offer and I haven't yet nor am I planning on it.

Exact same threat happened to me probably 10 years ago. Concerned me, but googled it and found it was BS. Carry on . . .

It must be the season for harassment. Now it is Yelp, Google, and Amazon making cold calls trying to sell me advertising. Neither of them understand the word "NO". I don't even answer my phone now but will return my customer calls in they have a registered number with me.

Now I did try to setup a business page on Google but they were so hard head it wasn't funny. They insisted on a live video and not just a recorded video. And Yelp is pestering me all over a stupid customer review that I have told them numerous times to take down and leave me alone. This is because I cant agree to their terms for a page on their site because they want to anything I post as their own and that I have no rights in relation to it.
