Excessive dirt and trash on engine

Lately, my Honda lawn tractor has been throwing (?) a lot of dirt and trash up under the hood and onto the engine. What could be the cause? I've been using the grass bagger when I mow.

It could be that your bagger isn’t sealing good around the discharge chute. In dry conditions, baggers typically produce more dust.

Have you checked to see if the deck is leveled properly? If the back is even or lower in the back more debris will be thrown out the front of the deck. I always set the back 1/4” higher than the front when a bagging system is being used.
