The plastic covering to my engine has a hole in it . Problem??

yes it will be get a new one or a used one off a bad engine there on there to keep the grass leaves and anything else out of the engine if not replaced it will fill up and not cool the engine the way it should

If you can't find or don't want to change the cover I can't see why just a fine screen over the hole won't work.
