Those of you who have read my thread I made earlier, know of the burning oil issues I have head with my Kawasaki.
In the mean time while I tear into that engine, I need to put something on the Husq to use temporarly to plow snow. (Not deep or heavy snow, so don't worry about that)
Right now I have two Briggs & Stratton's. One is a 4hp Quattro and the other is a 6hp on a YardMan; both are vertical shaft engines. I was thinking of putting the Quattro on the Husq since the YardMan is still relatively new and I don't want to frig with it.
I know what everyone is thinking.....4hp or 6hp on a lawn tractor?? Well...would it work? I've seen riding mowers with 5hp Briggs' on them and they seem to work pretty good.
So here are my questions:
*4hp or 6hp not enough power for the tractor? The tractor itself is geared pretty low as it is so they may do OK.
*Will a pulley go onto the shaft of the 4hp or 6hp? I know I may need to buy a different pulley to fit, but will a pulley go on, rather then the normal blade it's designed for? Maybe a couple of Jesus clips or a cotter pin will hold it?
