ENGINE PROBLEMS

Hello,
I HAVE A 2012 LTX 1040 CUB CADET 19 HP KOHLER COURAGE, THE LAWNMOWER SHOP I BOUGHT IT FROM SAID THEY
PUT A NEW SHORT BLOCK ON IT, NOW SEVERAL MONTHS LATER IT HAS A PROBLEM , SOMETHING IS HITTING THE
SPARK PLUG AND CLOSING THE GAP AND SHUTTING THE ENGINE DOWN. CAN ANYONE HELP.

depending on where the spark plug is on the head. if it is over one of the valves, it may be some bad valve lash issue. if it is over the piston,could be a few issues there, such as the wrong piston, connecting rod(wrong part or not tight on the crank). also may be the wrong plug(it may be to long, first check to make sure the threaded portion is not to long

Sounds very much like a loose or stretched con rod.
If you got a warranty with it take it back.
If not pull it out & check the rod.
Right now it s a PIA another hour and it could be tragic.
Usually if you take out the plug and press down on the piston with a pencil while you rotate the engine you will feel a click at TDC & BDC as the lop in the big end transfers from the top to the bottom & vias versa.

Since this has occurred after several months of running I would suspect that something has gotten on top of the piston and is hitting the spark plug. May need to remove the head and inspect the piston cylinder area, or if you know of somebody with a borescope may be able to look inside the spark plug hole and find out what is rattling around inside your cylinder.
