Electro Mechanical clutch problem.

Hi
I have a tractor mower and recently the wires were pulled out of the clutch connectors by a stray drive belt. I reconnected a positive and negative to it and it seems to be operating. I can hear the click and see the clutch plate pull in when activated. My trouble is that when I engage the clutch it stalls the engine immediately. If I "pump" the switch a little (turn it on and off building up the torque on the clutch slowly) it works better but the engine is still under pressure. I have 3ohms resistance across the coil which I think is good. There is no jam or huge resistance anywhere downline from the clutch - cutting gear etc can be rotated by hand when clutch is disengaged. If I run the engine without the belt on the clutch it runs almost perfectly but I do hear a slight drop in revs and power, but its very slight. Anyone there with any ideas? I'd really appreciate any help on this.

Thanks in advance

And we would really appreciate knowing what it is you are having trouble with.
Mower brand and model number please
Engine brand & model number helps also.
The drop in engine revs is because the clutch is putting an electrical load on the engine and is quite normal

The machine is an Etesia MVH100 (I think they are Scandanavian). Its a B&S Vanguard engine 16HP

Read the PDF. I've seen the you tube clip before. Nothing there really to help. Thanks anyway.
