My 614 was in storage for about three years due to the PTO self destruction. Replaced the PTO and checked the battery. Nothing. Put it on a charger with do results. While charger was on the lights worked well. Replaced the battery and nothing works now. No starter turnover, no lights. Nothing. Did the attempt to charge fry something. If so, what's the most likely damage: Flasher, Relay-Safety Interlick, or Solenoin Switch 4 Post. Anybody got a clue? Thanks.

From your post it's difficult to pin point a problem. You said that with the charger on the lights would work, but when you installed a new battery, no lights. This would tell me that either you have a bad battery or a loose connection. It could also be one of the safety switches. Are you sure the PTO switch is off? Does the solenoid click when you turn the key? Have you tried to jump the two large terminals on the solenoid to see if the starter works? Please check these and post back, so we have a starting point to help you.

Thanks for your quixk reply. New developments: Cleaned all the cable connections to the solenoid. Now the engine will crank, but no lights. If I flip the PTO switch I can hear it kick in, so that's working correctly. The brake light does not light either when the break is on. Seems like the ignition switch is only allowing the solenoid to work but not anything else. The carb is getting gas but there's no spark getting to the spark plugs. Any suggestions?

Sound like it's working pretty good. None of your lights will work until the engine is running. The starting circuit bypasses all other circuits. Lets go after spark. How have you checked for spark? Have you taken the cover off to get at the coil?

Nope. Where is the coil located . . . under what cover?

The coil is under the engine shroud or cover. If you take it off you will see the coil, but do you really want to try this. You don't sound to confident.
