E180 Transmission ?

I have an E180 which did a great job before I moved to 2100 ft ASL. My new place has no flat spot, it is all up or down. The hills are very hard on the E180. I have taken the Hydrostatic Trans apart two times to re-surface the he pump and motor. The mower works well for about 25 hours and then starts slipping again. My question is: Will any of the more heavy duty transmissions fit the E180. Even if there are some modifications of linkage necessary. I think the E180 has a K46 trans, will a K92 trans fit the E180??

No, the K92 is a horizontal drive transaxle. Check out the K58. It has 217 ft lb torque where the K46 has 171 ft lb torque and K57 has 188 ft lb torque. Now may need to change out the control lever if the lever ID is the same as the K46.

JD riders don't work at that altitude. LOL

Smaller rider mowers Hydrostatic transmissions are no good on hills unfortunately.

Seriously though, you need to consider a heavier duty rider or one with an actual gear shift transmission.

I grew up in Va., and I miss the changing weather this time of year, but not the taxes and cost of living.

definitely look at the K57 or K58
