How do I find info on this machine? I can get all the info I want on the B&S but what about all the rest? It has a 12hp B&S engine and was running until one of the blades fell off due to blot failure. I took off the deck to remove the part and decided to take the other blade off to sharpen it and it broke off......I'm hopeing to find someone to drill out the broken bolts....spindals are $70ea.

Another issue MAY be the transmission. What kind of tranny does it have and how would I check it to see if its ok or just to service it? If the tranny is about to go then why bother. Only problem is no money to buy another pile of crap.

Another question: The bolts broke off the muffler so I stuck a threaded pipe in the exhaust with a new muffler. After a half season it will not reverse out. Same issue as original bolts? How do I fix this?

I know about working on cars but nothing about these mowers......HELP!

same principle car, lawn mower,or whatever, broken bolts remove the same way. Just guessing but I am going to say they broke off because they are rusted in place so easy outs might not work but still worth a try. Now this being the case they will have to be drilled out and the threads will have to repaired. There is different ways this can be done. Go to the next size bigger bolts, or thread inserts like helicoils, or if you have a good eye for it just drill them out and re tap and use the same size bolts. Your best bet is to try very hard not to break them off in the first place like using heat and being very careful. Something you get a feel for with years of experience.
