Parts costs was a definite lesson, debated replacing the seals at all, since my sourced crank had seals on it, but went ahead and bought em. I used Parts Tree, they have good schematics on the parts and their web order interface is convenient for getting the right parts. I was a little salty at their $8 shipping for 2 seals, needle bearing, and sparkplug on top of the markup that these Chinese parts are getting. Trying to stay off the soapbox here, but there's too many hands in my cookie jar and I'm running out of cookies. I'm just glad that more people are sharing this type of knowledge on the web, especially youtube videos. In my family, this knowledge died with my grandfather and he didn't pass it on to my dad, so I've had a little slower uptake on the mechanical side of things. Thankfully, my formal education along the way included good reading skills and problem solving, which allows one to "self teach" with a little patience and trial & error. If you aren't learning.....your dying!
