Will others post their dumb goofs? Here is my latest one: I had just finished installing a new overhead garage door on my smaller barn, there was no door there before. The brackets and cables, etc, were done, and I had wound the spring. Took the clamps off the track (safety measure) and tried to raise the door...it would go up a few inches, then it felt like spring tension was pushing it back down. Rechecked all the assembly work, it was correct. Unwound and rewound the spring, tried to raise the door again. Same problem. Said a few short, nasty words, reread the installation manual, still didn't learn the cause.
Went outside to see if there was anything catching the door, bent down and braced a hand against the exterior side, and the door started up, and I watched as the sheet of plywood on the floor inside dropped off the inner lip at the bottom of the door. I had been standing on the plywood while trying to raise the door !! :ashamed:
DUMB ME !!
