Don't waste your time fixing a Briggs small engine cab. They are $15 on fleabay.

I see all sorts of in depth repairs on Briggs small engine carbs. If you suspect future problems, the best thing to do is buy a new carb. Kits are available on fleabay for about $15. They include a new carb, spark plug, carb foam filter and the red primer for the carb. Opening a plastic carb isn't hardly worth the effort of trying to get it open. The new one will probably last two or three years before it even needs any type of servicing.

You want to know just how many of these come into the workshop after the owner has gone mad trying to get the mower to run because the parts he bought on ebay were factory rejects ?
There seems to be a weird idea out there that every part cost less the $ 1 to make so the brand names are ripping every one off .
Well that is not the case
If the price seems too good to be true, then it is probably a faulty or fake part.
I get mine directly from one of the factory than makes them and all of them are more than $ 15 for just the carb.np matter which factory I by them from .

If you troll through this forum you will find hundreds of examples where the new carb was junk and when the owner fixed the original carb the engine ran fine .
Lesson learned
You can get lucky and if your time is only worth 10¢ / hr then fine then the ebay / amazon luck dip is fine

Clone are most miss but a few are good and some needs mods to get them to work right.

And it is of like repairing Nikki carburetor I see a lot bitching about how bad they are from those that has no idea how easy they are to repair for an experience repair tech.

Keep buying on fleabay, it keeps me in business in my old age. Remember you get what you pay for.

The only time i buy an aftermarket parts is if, The original parts is not repairable (Which is rare for carburetors) or the owner just can't afford a new OEM part.
I'm not staking my reputation on a unbranded part made by someone in most likely poor working conditions thousands of miles away.
