Dixie propane won't start

Dixie Chopper quit using the Generac engine around 2012.When the EPA reset the emission standards for small engines. Generac instead of redesigning the engine they leaned the carb down to meet the standards. In so doing this made the engine run too hot. That crystallize the exhaust valve that caused it to pop the head off the valve and destroy the engine. Too bad it was a really good engine.

In our world today, companies have changed hands, merged and collaborated so much that the lines are blurred about who actually makes the finished products. Most companies do not make their entire machines, they outsource "off the shelf" components that are already established in the markets.
At the consumer level, it is a free for all with very few regulations or guidelines. On the industrial level, the purchasing power is what dictates the higher quality of the end products. Generac has both a line of homeowner and industrial grade generators. The build quality and price points are entirely different.
B&S and Generac have had a long history of collaboration. They keep it buried pretty well from the general public.

The Generac engines that came on the Dixie Chopper mowers were nothing like the Briggs engines. In fact, that is what is on my XW2500 72-inch cut Dixie Chopper mower. I know it is not the original engine for it was a 25 HP Kohler. Which was not enough engine for the mower. Every time I mow with the mower I thank whoever replaced the engine on this mower. Love my two old D/C mowers.

And I wouldn't even call it a collaboration. It was more of a theft of technology. And rumor has it the sale of Generac portable products was a 5 year plan that was never completed. And Briggs had a liablity to Generac for several million as part of the bankruptcy.
