That is the usual setting. I try to set both at .005 inch. Adjust the clearance for each valve with the opposite one fully open.

When you say opposite one, do you mean the other cylinder? I am used to doing TDC. I may do this tomorrow.

He's talking about the same cylinder. Some folks do it with one valve fully open and one valve fully closed.

I'm referring to only one cylinder head at a time. There are two valves in each head. Only adjust the valve lash on one head at a time.

Teryll Fixes all has a good example of adjusting the valve lash in one of his videos.
