Hello everyone,

We recently purchased a ride on mower with a diesel Lombardini 6LD360 vertical shaft engine. The problem is the muffler isn't attached due to the previous owner shearing the bolts off. The problem is I haven't seen the bolts so I have no idea what size, length and thread they have. I have looked for parts manuals but it doesn't state what bolt it is...it just says "Muffler Bolt" so they are no help. I have attached two pictures if that helps... Could anyone help me out please?

Thanks

If the bolts are sheared off which can't be seen by the picture. You will have to remove them. When you have the broken bolts in hand you should know what you have by trying a thread die or nut on them Just measure the depth of the holes in the muffler for the length. I hope the best of luck for you to find someone who owns one of these engines that needed these bolts and can give you the size bolts.

Okay, I will do that. Failing that hopefully someone knows. Also, yes the bolt has sheared off in there but like you said it's not visible in the photo.

Check out page 16, I do believe studs 8mm x 1.25 from looking at torque chart, torque nuts 25nm.

You can use a left handed drill bit to remove studs or bolts, be sure to spray liquid wrench and let soak a while before drilling.

I have found that exhaust manifold bolts can be a bugger to get out some times. What I have done in the pass is end up drilling them out and installing thread inserts or going to over size bolts. For your sake I just hope they come out easy with a easy-out.

Hello ,there is a good chance that the exhaust simply fell off as these engines shake and vibrate a lot when they are running .
