With the mower off, turn the blades by hand and you should be able to tell where they are rubbing.

The right side blade is over lapping the left where the two blades meet in the center of the deck.

It sounds like you have bent the deck. What did you hit?

No that not it at all. This mower has a timed belt deck and the blades are out of time. One blade is to be 90 degrees of the other blade. Can the timing belt condition and replace if necessary and re-time the blades.
Now this is considering it has the 42" deck, now the 38" deck is non timed deck which then it can be damaged.
