I have a craftsman 42 inch mower and the belt went bad and I was able to change it but once I had the new belt on when I pulled the switch to start the blades I had nothing...when the belt gave way the deck was up and I was running in first gear thru taller grass but going slow...the belt didn't brake but did loose some of the center material of the belt...not sure if its something I can fix myself but would like to try.

Hi David Look under the deck and make sure the blades can turn.
As far as the switch and that over priced electric clutch I will not buy anything with them. So can not help you with.
