I am working on a scag wildcat with a 26 hp Kawasaki engine when I turn the pto on the starter engaged and it damaged the starter drive oweeddie@aol.com
Request Rejected click anyway, see page 76 for 26 hp Kawasaki wiring schematic, check backside of ignition & PTO switches for loose wires, burn marks, melted plastic of switch. Inspect all wiring from these switches to starter & PTO clutch. If you do not find anything wrong, remove starter & take to auto parts store for testing starter draw & operation.
The power supply to the starter solenoid runs through the PTO switch as does the power for the PTO solenoid.
If you have not been playing with it then there is a better than average chance of an internal short in the PTO switch.
