D170 accesing spindle zers

I have trouble getting grease gun on mower deck spindle zerks. any help out there?

When I do a deck service I rotate the spindle housing to get the grease nipples in a position that is easier to get at.
Other than that, get a better grease gun with a flexible end.

I thought about that but I just reinstalled deck and this 77 year old does not relish the thought of the garage floor time with those pins. I just installed flexible on grease gun not helping as flexibility hinders pushing on the fitting.

I should be good until next year. I read some where the zerks are not replacable, is this a fact?

You will have to take the deck off.
I use a yard crane to lift the mower off the deck ( I am 68 ).
Put some 8' long 2x4 under the deck then lower the deck on them to undo the deck then slide the deck out on the 2x4's.
Soooo much easier to do.
Yes they now make zerks with a spline on them that are literally hammered into the holes.
Cub use them , don't know who else .
I just drill the spindle when doing the bearings and replace the zerk with a normal threaded one.
The nozzle on the end of the grease gun should lock onto the zerk if not get a self locking one

I have a ATV & Yard tractor lift and used it when I replaced the blades. It will be next year or season when I start this job again. Thanks for all the suggestions and help. I have at least three acres to mow. Our place is on a small rise (hill) in the middle North woods of Wisconsin, what some people call rural I call home. This is second Mower I used up a Cub cadet.
