Tried to start but only got rapid clicking noise. Battery is good but I replaced it along with a solenoid and still only rapid clicking. I left battery connected to mower as usual but connected a jumper cable to the positive battery post and touched the other end to the starter and got nothing....no spark, no start, no nothing. I have checked all wiring and connections and they are good. Any ideas??
Kawasaki has an issue with some of their engines with too much wire between the battery and the solenoid JD has a fix kit (AM107421) that utilizes a relay to bypass. Had to use it two of Ferris mowers with Kaw motors.

JD mowers have a ground from battery to the frame, that have a connector in the middle of this black wire that will corrode inside black plastic connectors. Clean or replace this ground cable.

I use NO-Ox myself on some items. Use lots of dielectric grease around the shop, just not on electrical connections
When choosing between electrical grease and dielectric grease, consider the specific application and requirements. For applications requiring conductivity and lubrication, electrical grease may be appropriate. For protecting electrical connections from moisture and corrosion, dielectric grease is the better choice. Understanding the differences will help ensure optimal performance and longevity of electrical components.

A multi meter will tell you the voltage of the battery but not if it is good when put under a load.
Um, yes it will. While cranking, if the battery voltage drops to 10.5VDC or less, battery is toast. Or measured AT the starter while cranking, less than 10.5 VDC battery is bad.

Many may disagree, but do not put anything on battery posts, nothing!
Clean the battery post and the cable connector to fresh metal. Connect as normal. Then one can dope on grease or dielectric on the outside. Love that spray grease in a can for battery terminals. Keeps the corrosion away, for a little while.
