Cub cadette pto removal problem

I am trying to remove the power take off clutch on a cub 1042 and when i removed the center bolt the clutch came off in sections but it left the top piece which has the wires on it. I sprayed it with freeze all and tried tapping it down with a bar through the hole in the frame that the wires went through but it won't budge.

The clutch is in pieces and needs to be replaced. Spray the crankshaft with PB Blaster, apply heat, use an air hammer, or a 3 pound sledge hammer and beat it off. Sometimes it takes a lot to get a stuck one off. Also, try a 3 jaw puller.
 
The problem with most puller is they are not for round corners of the clutch.

I just wish the OEMs would use anti seize on these units.

It might even take cutting out the bearing balls get to the inner bearing. Of course the clutch is destroyed.

If you have an air hammer get a bolt that fits the crank threads and drill a divot in the head. Install the bolt in the crank with the head against the end of the crank. Use a pointed bit in the air hammer on the bolt. Never had one i couldn't get off in just a few seconds.
 
Try removing one that the center bolt has been out for awhile as I found it on the deck ground nearly in two.
 
I took both steering arms off the gear and fitted a clam shell puller bearly behind the clutch. I kept tightening the puller and had to hit the end with a hammer then tighten the puller again and repeat about 10 times and I got it off. Thanks for the help
