Is there a way to adjust the atomatic choke system? It is very difficult to start, and the choke is halfway open all the time, even when cold.

Push the throttle control cable to the choke position. If you follow the cable down to the engine you’ll find where it is clamped to a plate. Loosen this clamp and push the entire cable forward as far as possible and tighten the clamp. Choke should now be fully closed.

this particular model does not have a throttle cable. just a linkage from the carb to the exhaust that is not adjustable

Sometimes it takes slightly bending the choke linkage in the right direction and right amount to get the choke butterfly to close completely.

Post all Model and serial numbers for the unit and engine so we have a better idea of what you are dealing with.

I’m guessing that on that model the temperature control linkage is hung up or thermo choke control is bad.

Thank you, control linkage is ok, and moving as should. so the choke control is probably bad. is that common for those to fail?
