I ran over a sheet of plastic with my Cub Cadet LTX 1040. The plastic entangled the blades and the engine stopped. After clearing the plastic from the blades I was unable to restart the mower. It is as if the battery were completely dead. I hooked up my battery charger and allowed for a good charge to build up. But I still get absolutely no response, other than the instrument panel lights, when I turn the key to start the mower. Any ideas of what can be done would be appreciated. Is it possible that there is a safety switch or a fuse, which may have been tripped when the blades locked up, that I can reset or replaced?
Sc2400 click on electrical system & see page 196 - check fuse first between ignition switch & solenoid for being blown, check all wiring by hand for loose connections example pto clutch, etc.

Turn the blades by hand. And make sure the belt is loose. And not off of a pulley.
I have had this happen with mine. The deck belt gets stuck.

Look at the instrument panel lights. Is any of them on? Like PTO.
When a switch is open the light will be on. Telling you why it will not start.
Thanks Lawnranger. I'm rather embarrassed to admit that I failed to disengage the blade . . just got too wrapped around the axle thinking that I had destroyed the engine and was facing a large cash outgo to repair or replace the mower. I appreciate your response.

Nothing to be embarrassed about. It happens more than you can imagine and even happens to professionals but only the honest ones admit it.
I'm glad you got it sorted out and thank you for coming back and telling us what actually fixed your mower. I wish more people did that because it helps us and it helps others with the same issue.
