Cadet LT1050 with Kohler Courage died while mowing. Replaced fuel pump & put new carburetor on, but will only run when using starter fluid. Made sure gas was pumping through fuel pump ✔️. What could be my problem? Thanks

is the solenoid on the bottom of the carb working ?
It should retract when the ignition is turned on.
If it does not then fuel can not get into the engine.

The solenoid came with new carb and i should know better than to assume. I will check to see if solenoid is getting voltage than assume that it is. Thank you

Some need to be grounded through the carb body ( single wire ) and some have a ground wire.
If the carb is mounted in a plastic manifold then it can be hard for it to get a good ground.

Solenoid does work, it retracts when key turned on and has fuel in bowl but will only run with starter fluid.

Changing a carb without cleaning the fuel lines and fuel tank just sucks the same crap back into the new carb. Drain and clean the fuel tank and replace the fuel line. Then remove the carb and clean out all the little holes in the carb. I like to use stranded copper wire from speakers to clean out the holes. That way I can clean bigger and smaller holes by adding or removing wire.

Found the problem and discovered it to be a six yr old boy who thought that since mower had a big fuel tank opening he would see what all he could fit through it. Foam, rocks, sticks, dirt and leaves. Fuel tank was half full & even had new fuel filter prior to problem which was clear. It wasn’t until i pushed mower back into shade to work on it is when i discovered it because now all of a sudden i can’t siphon gas through hose from fuel pump. Thanks to all for your input and suggestions
