Cub Cadet LT1046 Transaxle Problem

I bought a used Cub Cadet LT1046 for almost nothing. The deck was what needed the work, so I went through and repaired/replaced a bit of stuff. I mowed my yard and it ran great, until it stopped. The drive will not engage forwards or reverse. The pedal moves the linkage, but nothing happens. No movement of the drive pulley. It's full of fluid, but it's obviously old.

I am getting frustrated in trying to look up stuff online about it. The tag on the transaxle is below.

I can't find the 350-0510 reference number anywhere. There is 310-0510, and the tranaxle looks the same, but it's not the same number.

Can someone point me to a guide or video about working on this? I put enough work into the rest of the mower that I want to take a stab at the transaxle before I give up and count it as a loss.

If the transaxle input pulley is not moving then it is the mower drive belt system that is the problem. But I will attach the transaxle repair manual and the IPL.

Repair too large to attach so here is a link to my online drive. Just be aware this is temp link and the file will get deleted in a couple weeks so DL and save on your end. If the manual says it for a different but this is correct per Hydro Gear.

Are you saying the drive pulley on top of the transaxle is not spinning???
 
I feel like a total dumb-@$$ now, but sometimes that's what it takes to clear things up. The problem isn't the transaxle. The belt that drives it from the engine isn't moving. Duh.

I've got gobs of other things going on, and this whole mower thing got thrown in on top of it all.

I'll check back with y'all when I find out what the problem is.
 
Don't feel too bad. I just had a customer to bring in his rear tine DR tiller. He had forget to turn on the fuel valve so course it would not just run on just air.

We all get mind bogged at times. That like darn nurse wanting me to remember three words then proceeded to ask a lot of questions that was more important to answer. Besides that is what pen and paper is for. Or like the doctor asking if I fell this year. Well yes at least three times as I got my feet tangled up in the cluttered shop. Or a bunch of other Medicare questions that all has happen this year as its is all part of running a business. Like do you have headaches?, yes of course I do as I am dealing with some idiot vendors that some have 5 year old doing their programming. Or do you have pain at times? Yes as I have hit myself with tools. One caused a $300 ER visit. As you can tell it was that once a year stupid doctor visit. The doctor is making me to hate to the doctor.
 
A sudden loss of drive motion can be alarming.

This problem usually means an idler or tensioner pulley gave out after sitting for year frozen up, or the drive belt has chunked a section out of it.

Remove the deck and jack the front up high enough for a good inspection when you have the opportunity.

Being this old, I recommend that both small idler & tensioner pullies and the drive belt be replaced, because they have likely never been done.
 
I stumbled onto Cub Cadet info at partstree.com awhile back.
try this and see if they have a owners manual and IPL to download.
Go to partstree and type in your LTX1046 in the model search.
Then choose the model from the drop down.

If you have the 13xx?????? model try typing it in if you do not see the correct model from the above.

I've found several different model CC IPL's at the site

Yeah, I discovered PartsTree when I started working on the mower deck. I found the model number, but had trouble finding the serial number from my mower. However, because of the diagrams of the several versions there, I took a chance and converted the deck to 2-idler pulleys from the original one. I was lucky to find the 2 idler pulley brackets on eBay (after I had already purchased a spindle, idler pulley, and belt set) which are discontinued, and almost unavailable.
