Yes, the deck is level right to left and front to back. I had the tech check that as well. All is good as far as the deck being level.

Is the area that looks ragged happen to be inline with the front tire? The grass gets laid down by the tire and there just isn't enough lift to stand the grass up for an even cut. Try adjusting the pitch of the deck. Having the front of the deck 1/8" to no more than 1/4" lower than the back of the deck can make a huge difference.

I still wouldn't rule out the belt either.

I wonder if this a common defect for these types of Scrub Cadets?
