Cub Cadet LT1040 engine shuts off when engage pto

Looks like all connections are good, engine dies when engaging pto. Any ideas why this is happening?

No not in reverse but acts just like it is. Have tried putting it in both neutral & forward. Year is 2009

I am thinking your seat switch is going to be bad or loose.

On that mower it has to be the seat or the reverse switch.
