That's what the repair guy suggested. May take it in. Why would Cub Cadet put the fuse in such an inconvenient location? I was thinking kill switch malfunctioning. Other ideas?

If it has a dead short that is one of the easy ones to find. To repair it yourself start with a wiring diagram. I just can't see a kill switch blowing a fuse seeing they work off the negative side and when you say kill switch are you talking about the ignition switch? Kill switches are more on motorcycles and snowmobiles, can't say as I ever seen one on a mower, is it a add on switch? Yes it will be cheaper sometimes to let someone who knows what they are looking for then just replacing parts till you find the problem.

More info on your mower would be helpful. Model of Cub and engine info.

Was the mower running, then went dead? Do the headlights come on with the key?
