My cub cadet 3206 will not go forward or reverse. I was cutting grass and felt some hesitation going forward I went in reverse back to my shed along the way it seemed like it went into netural. When I got to my shed I was able to get it into the shed in reverse had to play with the forward then reverse pedals until I got it in. Now it dosent go forward or reverse. Help

Sounds like the drive belt. Check it for slipping or broken belt.

I was looking at it today found out it has something to do with differential lock pedal/cable. Is there a cable adjustment? Hold pedal down tractor moves forward & reverse. Release pedal & no forward or reverse.

I did not find any adjustments in the cable in your manual but I did find a dip stick to check oil level in the rear end. Have you checked you oil level.

Follow the cable to the rear end and see if it is moving like it should. Have you checked the drive belt yet.

It is a real cub with a drive shaft, no belt

Well seeing I have absolutely no first hand knowledge on this mower. And I can find very little on it I will have to bow out of trying to help fix it. I do not want to give the wrong advice. I will read and learn but this is above my pay grade. Sorry I started something I could not finish.

The 3000 series were the Garden tractor version of the 2000 series and usually came with a hydraulic pump for deck lift, power steering and powering the attachments, earth augers, trenchers, rotary hoes , snow blowers, snow blade etc etc etc.
built from 2000 to 2005

You will find your repair manuals & parts books here

The gearbox stand alone is also in the general manual .
I have only had one case like this and it was the input pinion that drives the diff off the tranny,'

Note the tranny & the diff are 2 different items ,'There is a cone shaped gear that wears.
I will also hazard a guess that the axel bearings in the diff are also cactus and the shift fork is worn thin.

I think I ended up replacing all axel bearings ( 4 of them ) the input pinion, and associated thrust washers along with the shifter fork and thrust washers here as well.

Not sure if all needed replacing but it was a very big job to get into the tranny so I opted on the safe side & replace everything that looked worn.
Must have worked because after he recovered from the heart attack when he got the bill, I have not heard a peep from his since and his 3 acres of garden are worked regularly and the same area of lawns seem to be nicely mowed.
