after a new battary and new carb the motor starts and runs fine. When I let off the brake pedal the motor quits. Mower is off the tractor.
Looked over the schematic electric pto works for mower. any ideas?

The seat switch is hard wired jumped out.

Well you had better double check that because it is the ONLY thing that will cause this to happen
So either you stupid bypass has failed or the wiring has shorted some where .

You can't jumper the seat switch wiring as the mower uses a normal closed switch which must open when the operator is on the seat. And you can't simply unplug it most times either as many connectors as a built in shorting strip. This is done the operator can't simply unplug the seat switch.

By jumpering it you told the mower that no one is ever on the seat.

By jumpering it you told the mower that no one is ever on the seat.
Being a 2155 it will have the connector open seat switch that needs a paddle pop stick to hold the prongs apart.
If you unplug it then it will ground the magneto and if you short the yellow wires it will again short the magneto to ground .
So much beter than the very trouble prone system ysed on Husqvarnas & their clones .

Thanks to all those who posted to re-attach the seat switch wires. I did and the grandson will get his mower back.
