Hello all, I own a IH cub cadet 125 hydro, the tractor runs, cuts, and drives great, but the throttle needs adjustment. The throttle itself works, but it’s out of whack, so when you push the throttle to fast, the engine runs way to fast. I have researched this problem, and the governor system on it is often faulty, but then again I’m not sure. Any suggestions?????

Set the throttle to 1/2 speed .
Move the governor with your finger in both directions, you should feel resistance to moving it with your finger.
If the engine returns to the 1/2 speed and there was resistance to moving it the governor is working and just needs adjustment.
If the engine just speeds up or there is no resistance then the governor is deceased so the engine will need to come out for a replacement.
Continuing to run the engine risks the governor falling apart and doing big damage to the engine and over reving will also destroy the engine.
