This has solenoid attached to top of carb - I’ll take a wild guess that it’s an automatic choke assist?
New fuel shutoff solenoid on carb. Carb cleaned. Oil & filter changed. New fuel filter. Turns over but will not fire.
As I move dash throttle control the linkage to the carb doesn’t seem to move enough. I can move the throttle control on top of carb easily. Trying to move choke control atop carb and it is stiff and doesn’t move much. If I put my hand over the air inlet the motor will start running. Remove my hand and it dies.
In years past I had some difficulties getting the solenoid on top of carb lined up so that linkage would move easily.
What is wrong? Am I missing something linkage?
I apologize for not knowing the correct terms. You activate the throttle control on the dashboard. It causes the other end of the cable to move some control behind some plate before it gets to the carburetor. The cable moves and causes an arm to move forward to push on an arm that chokes the engine. There is nothing on that arm (that is moved by the cable) that connects to the arm (that has the rod and thin wire) going over to the throttle control on the carburetor. It seems like there should be something on that cable controlled arm that would connect to the arm going over to the throttle. Right now nothing is activating the throttle. What am I missing? Does anyone know what spring or connector or controller that I need to order?

Although we’re having heat index of 110° the Bahia grass seed heads are growing taller and taller! Soon no one will be able to see the house because of the grass!
