Hello all,
I have a Craftsman 10.5 hp engine that the seat where the oil filter sits is broken. I've done the JB weld twice and hasn't held.
Question - - Can I cap the oil filter threaded spout and return gally and bypass having this filter at all???? Reason I ask is the replacement engine case doesn't have a filter on it. We can do more regular oil changes but I don't want to harm the oil flow inside the case. The pumps I've seen inside the case just send oil through the filter and back to the sump at the bottom of the engine. , . . seemingly not apart of the oil sling-ing system.
What do ya think? I've worked on hundreds of engines but rather not tear into this one.
Thanks
Scott
