Have the above riding lawnmover, someone did work on it, but could not fix it.
They changed the starter, soleniod and ignition switch. Unit will still not fire up.
No sound, nothing. Battery is good. I noticed the solenoid they replaced, does not
look like the original one, that can be purchased from the craftsman parts dept.
Does anyone have a diagram, how the wiring should go to solenoid.
Also, what is the best method to test the, 3 safety switched, there is one under
the seat, and the PTO and then the clutch on, the last two have 2 white and 2 black
wires. thnks in advanced.

The starter solenoid is just a large relay that is able to handle the starter current... it's shape is not as important as it's ability to carry the needed amps....
I would start wringing the wiring out from that solenoid... You should be able to energize it by jumping from the battery cable on it to the small terminal... if that works start working back till you find what is open... :smile:KennyV
