craftsman M220 21 in selfpropelled keeps dieing

My son in law bought a M220 21in self propelled lawnmower 2024 and left it outside over the winter ( not to smart ) and this spring he could not get it started. He asked me to take a look at it, first the flywheel and coil were both rusty so cleaned both and reset the coil , cleaned the carb but that did not help so I replaced it with one off amazon, cleaned the gas tank , put new fuel line and gas filter on.
Now it starts on first pull and runs great for about 30 minutes and then dies. Let it set for about an hour and then starts and runs again for about 30 minutes. The only thing I can think of is maybe the coil is weak and when it gets to hot it quits working. What am I missing and any ideas ? I am kinda at a lose ???

loosen the fuel cap. It may not be venting. Also when you cleaned the fuel tank, did you dry all the water out? Check inside the shroud for mouse nest? And yes, temperature can affect a coil, especially a damaged one.
