Model 917.289081(American Lawn Products) 42" riding mower with Gentrans transaxle.
When I put the tractor away last fall, it was moving properly both forward and reverse. When I used it for the first time this season, it seemed to be slower at max speed forward and barely moved in reverse. The ground drive belt and transmission belt look good. I adjusted the motion control lever as recommended in the Operator's Manual, but that didn't correct the problem. The tractor moves freely when in neutral and the freewheel lever is in freewheel mode.
What are some of the most likely causes of this problem?
Brake lever not fully dissengaging the brake, gearchange lever not fully changing the gears.
Remover right hand rear wheel and clean/ lube all linkages to the tranny & brake
