Craftsman lt2000 won't engage the mower

I have tried everything to get this lawnmower to engage but nothing works. It worked fine for a while and now it just stopped. The deck belt seems to be OK and no parts are missing. I even replaced the 2 deck release pins and all that's done is make it really hard to pull the deck up, I can only get to 3 from 1. Please help! My lawn desperately needs to be mowed in the backyard.

Is it an electric clutch / pto or mechanical shift to engage the blades ?
