I have a 2009 craftsman lt1000 with hydrostatic transmission that will not move. Some people have told me to push in a wire on the back but there is no wire present. Not helping that there is no information to be be found online for my model number 944.601883 or a tractor with a 20hp Briggs motor.

Help! My grass won't stop growing!!

There is a belt tucked way up inside the frame, You will need to get down and almost stick your head under the mower. Make sure the belt hasn't came off or has broken.

the closest I came to your model number was the 944601880 or 944601881 which are made by husqvarna.

Thanks. I looked under with the deck off and the belt is very saggy. Looks like a small pulley near the front may be broken?

Go to the Sears web site & down load your owners manual.
Some where at the rear is the bypass valve.
Generally they poke out at the back, some times they pop up next to the battery and some times they tuck it right up under the wheel arch but it will be there some where if it is a hydro ( heel & toe ) drive.
