Craftsman Lawn Mower does not start.

I have been working on my Craftsman 6.75 Briggs and Stratton engine because it would not start. If I add a little fuel to the cylinder head and start, it does start and then stop. I have cleaned the carburetor twice, still no success. Can any one advise please.

It would nelp is we had the model number so we can figure ot what engine we are helping with.
