I'm working on this 3500 watt Craftsman Generator ( Model is 580.327130) and when I run it the Exhaust gets so hot that it turn red. It sounds like it's running lean/ starving for fuel. I was gonna order a new carb for it cause the other one got water in it and got all rusted inside but I cleaned it in my ultrasonic cleaner. Was wondering what other people thought about it?

maybe a vacuum leak or plugged fuel filter. When it runs too lean the fuel molecules are too far apart and take too long to burn so the burn extends well past the cylinder. You'll be lucky if you don't drop an exhaust valve or crack the head.
When running liberally spray around the carb & manifold with WD40 ( or similar ) from a trigger pack ( not a pressure can ) .
If the engine changes speed you have an air leak.
Red hot exhausts can be both too lean ( exhaust too hot ) or too rich ( still burning inside the muffler ) .
