Hi!
Had a surging 18HP Briggs on my old GT18 mower. I pulled the carb apart and cleaned it without fixing the problem. Foolishly(I think), on my second attempt to clean the carb, I pulled the 4screw fuel pump apart - got new innards for it. Now it just pumps gas out the hole in the front of the fuel pump (opposite the carb side). It's a 422437 1266 01 (90040912). On youtube it looks like the spring should go against the carb, then the metal button, then the gaskets. In the parts diagram, it doesn't look that way to me. Any advice for this frustrated diy'er? Thanks!
