Hi Everyone,
My mower blades started to turn to slow to cut, then would speed back up for just a minute or so then slow down again and was just to slow to cut. The belt was very loose so I put a new belt on (checked numbers, it is the correct one). When the deck was pulled out I noticed the spring tensioner was broke (the cable end) so I put a new one on. Now everything is together and double checked (belt is on correct as it came off and also according to the diagram) but as soon as I engage the blades it binds the motor and stalls it. Does anyone have any idea of what I could do or check? Thank you, Di

Do the blades turn freely with the belt off? Also check that all the pulleys turn freely with the belt off.

Hi, Yes they do, there isn`t any bind at all. I can`t figure out why it won`t rotate fast enough to cut. Thank you for replying, I appreciate it!

I have the same exact mower with the same exact problem. The engine is plenty powerful but it the blades just don't turn fast enough. I have been searching the internet for answers too. I am going to have my mower guy look at it and if he can give me an answer then I will let you know. If he cannot figure it out then I am going to drive this thing into the Potomac River.

The belt is slipping on the engine pulley.

And or the spring for the idler pulley has got weak or came off.
Or the belt is old

(( racing is the only sport that you need two balls ))
