Key switch won't turn over so I'm jumping the starter solenoid and it just slow cranks and won't start

Get some jumper leads and do these tests in this order
BAttery - to a good ground near the starter , turn the key
Battery + to the battery side of the starter , turn the key
battery + to the + terminal on the starter
Remove spark plugs & do the above again.
